Jack's 4th Birthday Celebrations (major catch-up)

I used to see kids having their birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese and feel sorry that their parents were so white trash. Then my nearly 4 year old informs me that the only place he wants to have his party at this year is Chuck E Cheese. I even tried to bribe him with Disneyland, but it was a no go. So we headed down to see the big Cheese with 22 of Jack's best buddies. He had a blast! Here are some pictures from the event.

Check out Jack's party face!

Zack and I stayed up late the night before creating a motorcycle racing cake per Jack's request. In truth, about two hours before going to bed that night Jack told me he might actually prefer a soccer cake, to which my reply was "tough noogies"...

In retrospect, I totally would recommend a CEC party. The birthday boy loved it, the kids loved it, and I didn't have to clean up he mess made by 22 three and four year olds!

Jack's real birthday was spent at Chuck E Cheese with his best bud Nicky. The boys played games for nearly 5 hours and boy did they enjoy themselves. Jack's favorite game is Artic Thunder. Here is a picture of the boys racing against each other.

Later, the boys banged their way through a pinata (thankfully the Chirco's mercedes was not harmed although it was often in the line of fire).

Jack was so happy to spend his birthday with Nicky. Theses guys are the best of friends.

We miss you Chirco Family!

That cake looks awesome! Nicely done, Zs!

You're brave to have invited so many kids! They must have had a blast.

I have felt the same way about many things that Ellie is now in love with. For instance, I used to pity the little girls walking around in Disney princess t-shirts and light up Disney princess shoes. We are now the proud owners of BOTH, in multiple sizes...we are now trying to learn to just not make grandiose statements so we don't have to eat as much crow later...

What I love is that Jack either seems to be in his Harvard t-shirt or shirtless these days. Guess that's how it's done in Boston! =)

Great job on the cake. I love how you describe things. It makes me feel like I am actually talking to you. Love your blog.

22 friends?!? What a guy! And what a mom! That cake is amazing. And I'm so proud of you for embracing Chuck E Cheese's. It's a part of childhood. (btw I totally hate it too). I have a friend who had 4 girls and then had a boy and declared that he would never wear camo or a shirt with a monster truck on it. That made me laugh as I told her "good luck with that".

What impresses me about this (besides your amazing courage) is the richness of knowing 22 tikes in a Business School community. That is a great support group.
The artistry of the motocross cake really impresses, too.
