What we didnt know was there were going to be 5 large ballrooms full of people also here to dine with the Pilgrims. And we certainly didnt know that there were only going to be two pilgrims and two Indians that had to split their time between each of the ballrooms, leaving the rest of time just an awkward dinner with a ecclectic bunch of weird people. I think the culminating event of the evening to show just how awkward of an experience it was, was meeting the male Indian.
Are you telling me that for $100 per ticket the only Indian they could find in the state of Massachusetts is this guy? The picture really doesnt do justice to the fact that he is in fact in a motorized wheelchair. Really? For a period dinner? Yes, he never broke character, but everything about him screamed I live in 2010.

The meal was mediocre and Zack will be forever grateful to the Bowen family for inviting us over to share Thanksgiving dessert with them. Zack took one look at their meal and began eating a real Thanksgiving feast first, and then dessert. Our friends truly did make us ever so grateful for Thanksgiving.

Oh Ana, that is so funny. I'm sorry it didn't live up to your expectations.
Oh, Ana! You make Grandpa and me laugh out loud remembering when we did the same thing in 1976. Thanksgiving at Plymouth Rock sounded so authentic. Somehow were weren't expecting a church dinner in a basement social hall.
We went through the serving line, got our food on a paper plate and then found a seat on the long tables that were set end-to-end.
We should have been tipped off with the low price of our tickets. We were sure if we had gone to the expensive one it would be so much nicer.
I can't believe you had a similar experience at a much higher price.
That's how we remember Sarah's first Thanksgiving at Plymouth Rock. I think my parents drove up from Philadelphia to join us.
Oh no!! So sad. I'm sorry it didn't turn out - that doesn't look at all like the one we went to - and now I'm having a hazy memory of there being 2 different dinners or something... so sorry that it wasn't what you were hoping for. But thank goodness for those Bowens!! =)
