Jack wants to go to school. He is dying to go to school. No, not because he wants to learn to read, write, or add, but because the school in our neighborhood has 10 basketball courts. Jack and I see the kids at school during the week and watch the kids at PE running around and playing on the courts while we play at the park next door. He waits (somewhat patiently) for all the kids to go home for the evening or the weekend and then his only desire is to go to school and shoot hoops.
Zack lifts Jack high above his head and Jack shoots. If he misses he tries and tries again. If he makes it, he moves on to the next basketball hoop.
Zack was a trooper despite an injured back. What great fun!

It's SOOO true... I can't believe it. Here is another example that happened just after dinner before Ana went to the gym:
Ana: Is it bed time yet? I could take a nap right now...
Zack: You're so "nappy" today... uh, I mean...
you get the picture. :-)
Yes, we all have those days where two seconds after we say something, we wish we could swallow it back in. Too funny.
P.S. the 2:1 parent:child ratio is huge. Nothing compares!!!
That kid is obsessed! I wonder if he'll grow up to be a basketball star?! How did Zack hurt his back?
Yes he is obsessed! I keep asking him if he is going to grow up to be a basketball star. He tells me yes. I follow up by asking if he will give me all of his money when he's rich and the answer is always no. :)
Zack's not quite sure how he hurt it. He played basketball at work last week outdoors and thinks it might just have been too much pounding on the cement for his back.
